The perpective design of the nest on the site

This is the final touch of my design on the Project  "Nest" with plant mass and all existed materials such as : car park, bridge, tress and stream of course. The diagram shows with many detals as possible to have a better look and to illustrate my idea in a 3D perpective view.

Main Model

The front view of the model with the details and materials.

The general view of the model with the whole materials needed to demonstrate my design
(incl. the existing bridge / car park and trees).

Flora mass structure in the site

I have reseach many book and in the internet to see what are the tpical and the most adapted plants in a stream area. So I found 4 different plant species to be in the site nearby the nest, which are :

- Shuttlecock Ferns Matteucia Struthiopteris

- Narcissus bulbs
'Winston Churchill' & 'Carlton'

- Papaver somniferum
Ranunculales

- Camassia Leichtlinii
' Blue Danube'

Secondary Models

The general view of the nest in the site. This model does not have any details because its just to visualize how the model integrate in the site and its not in scale. As you can see the shelter will be located above the water liked the tow sides of the stream where the couple can pass through each side (just in mind that the existing bridge will be also appear but not in this model) which will have 2 possible ways to pass another side of the stream.

The initial idea of the "Nest" !

This sketch was the first one with an idea how the nest would be like and with the material and contructed in general. The third diagram in the first row you can see that I visualize how it would be the nest in the stream site. The right one, next to the last diagram that I mention is the general look how the nest would be like with matereal already in this case: wood.

It's Design and Material

The concept of this new design creation is to able the couple join and have a a good time after the work. It can be their shelter or their meeting spot. My idea is to ensure that they are protected by any weather conditions  and have a good views to the wildlife

As you can see in this picture the nest is right above the water stream where they can see and hear the water going through during the day. The materials of this "nest" is made by pine wood which is strong and has a long durationg against humidity ( doesn't allows the wood be rotten over the years ). The shelter is constructed with trunks of pine wood all together amd with a curved thick layer of wood on the top. Its have a significant height between the water - "nest's floor" to avoid flooding during the Winter/Spring season when the ice melts and goes directly to the water of the stream.

Couple Information (Project 1)

-Sarah is a young veterinary in Writtle Clinic and graduated last year. She prefers countryside rather than city such as London, her birthplace.
She always find her way to be alone after her work day to see the wildlife and she go more often to the main stream of the village.

-Josh is a young lawyer who is always stuck in his office in Chelmsford. He is already experiment for over 3 years.
After being in his office during whole day, he choose to go away from the noisy environment  and be nearby the calm zone. So he also choose the stream of Writtle as his relax site.

They have some things in common like : nature, silence, countryside area, they are young and single. Josh really did like Sarah and they decided that their meeting point would be the site of their first meeting, the Writtle's stream.

Project 1 - "Nest" (09/2011)

The aim of the project is to create a nest according to the couple needs and allow the nest be is a good situation and a firendly enviroment where they can be together more often with a romantic climate. The couple met at the stream site in Writtle village nearby the car park.
